Our goblins and ghouls have been working day and night to make sure Old Man Manson’s haunted house is up and scaring every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of October.
Presented by The Manson Chamber of Commerce, we’ve partnered with the Rotten Apple Crew to produce a spooky spectacle for you and the whole family to enjoy this year during Haunted Manson.
If you’re looking for a place to escape the vampires and ghosts during this Halloween season, be sure to reserve a room with us at The Lodge. We have plenty of garlic and proton packs to keep you safe!
The Haunted House
Still a working process, but the haunt is already upon us. We won’t stop until we make the back of your neck hairs stand up. Can you feel it yet?
This year’s Haunted House features six rooms and over 2,000 square feet of horrifying fun for you to experience. The house was constructed with over 200 apple bins to transport you into a mysterious portal back to 1968!
Together with our sponsors, The Rotten Apple Crew, The Preview Group, The Bloody Good Company, Cascade Event Rentals, Antheia of Chelan, Mountain View Lodge & Resort, Stage Stop Antiques, and Habitat for Humanity, we’ve collected everything from ovens, wallpaper, toilets, antique tools, and so much more to make you feel as if you’ve just stepped into a horror movie.
We visited Stage Stop Antiques, where they let us into their attic and shared wallpaper, jars, and all sorts of spooky goodies and treasures to use for Old Uncle Manson’s home. After all, he was a handyman that found many uses for his tools!
We haven’t even told you the best part! What makes this year’s haunted house all the more special is that it comes complete with an interactive game. You won’t want to miss this!
The Interactive Story of Old Uncle Manson
Gerry and Kevin are building the roof and the covered porch to give Old Uncle Manson’s house a real homey feel for his guests!
Here’s the storyline behind this year’s haunted house:
54 years after the death of Manson founder, Oliver Robert Manson, known to the community as “Old Uncle Manson,” the house at 135 Wapato Way is finally being sold, and an Estate Sale is planned. The house has sat vacant all this time and has been the topic of many questions over the last 55 years.
Just before Manson’s death on October 31, 1968, there were reports of missing people who had never been found. What’s even more horrifying is that the missing people reports in the vicinity of the home have begun again.
Many people have even reported strange activity going on around and inside the vacant home. Still, everyone is terrified to enter the premises as it has now become known as a haunted house!
The estate sale will run through the month of October, and neighbors report that they are relieved that an end to the fear may be close.
We don’t want to give away too much ‘cause you’ll have to see it for yourself. But here’s a little deeper look into the production side of Old Uncle Manson’s haunted house.
Be sure to check out all the other amazing activities during Haunted Manson.
The Haunted Production
Gerry and his team worked together to build the haunted house foundation with over 200 apple bins!
Kim and sponsor Alissa from Antheia of Chelan decide where the blood bath should go in her bathroom.
We got into our archive and found some of our old friends we thought the haunted house would be the perfect home for!
Kim and Kelsey are working on the interior of the home. Wait till you see what they’ve done with the place. It’s just lovely.
No sources were off limits. So Kelsey and Kevin went dumpster diving for some of the key components of the house. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” – Kevin Guy.
The dream team is working day and night to build the house of your nightmares!
