S’more kits, you asked we listened

Did you know… S’more is a contraction of the phrase “some more”.  S’mores appeared in a cookbook in the early 1920s, where it was called a “Graham Cracker Sandwich”.  The text indicates that the treat was already popular with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. In 1927, a recipe for “Some More” was published in a booklet called Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.  In 1957, Betty Crocker published a similar recipe under the name, “s’mores.”  And now… who doesn’t love a s’more?!

Well, for several years Mountain View Lodge has been providing “S’more’s trays” for guests to cook the picture perfect smore right over the BBQ. Check out the picture above!  The kits are free to use and contain the cooking tray and foil needed to cook the S’more to sheer perfection. It even comes with directions!

Through my many nights working the front desk, I’ve heard our guests consistently asking that we stock the necessary assortment of goodies to cook the s’mores in our gift shop so guests wouldn’t have to make a trip (yep, one block) to the store. Your words have not fallen on deaf ears! You spoke and we heard you!

This Fall, we will be offering our very own specially prepared smores bundles available for purchase in our gift shop. Just in time for crisp autumn nights around the fire pit with your friends and family.

Every detail in our resort has been carefully considered and planned out for the comfort and value of our guests. Leaving no need unmet is the goal of our staff for our MVL Family… that’s YOU. Thank you all so much for your input! Without your continued support and input we would not be where we are today!  Wishing you many s’mores and happy trails!
