“So What’s There do Do Around Here?”
That is a big question! There are a million things to do here, but I’ll try to some up my summer favorites here for you.
Breweries, Ciders, & Wineries
The Lake Chelan Valley is famous for the tasting opportunities. Head out of MVL and take a left to try multiple brew, ciders, & wines. We also have a massive list of wineries organized HERE.
Boating & Jet Skiing
We hope you didn’t come to the lake just to look at it! Boating is a favorite activity in the area, and you can often see people flying by on inner tubs and wakeboards. And sometimes, laying on the boat under the sunshine is all you need to create a perfect day.
Parasailing
Have you ever flown over the lake? Get attached to a parachute and soar over the waters while a boat pulls you from below. Touch the sky and feel the wind in your hair. Chelan Parasail & Watersports – 509.682.7245
Swimming
MVL is located just a five minute walk away from local Manson Bay Park – the perfect place to take the whole family swimming in the lake. Have a furry family member with you? No problem! Right past the Manson Bay Park is The ‘Ol Swimmin’ Hole, which is dog friendly.
Kayaking, Paddle boarding, & Snorkeling
Go out a bit further, explore a bit more, and relax among the waters. Many places allow you to rent out kayaks and paddle boards, or you can buy your very own. It is the perfect exercise for the entire family.
Slidewaters Water Park
Take the entire day for this one, folks! Slidewaters is the all-ages waterpark about a 20 minute drive from the lodge. Open from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day, this place has a lazy river, pool, races, and much more!
Miniature Golf
Need a break from the water? There are a few miniature golf areas in the valley. The main one is called “The Green” and is Chelan, across the street from the Red Apple Market. If you want to go for a bit of a drive and grab lunch, The Alphenhorn Mini Golf is best-kept local secret.
Bowl the Night Away
There is a bowling alley in Chelan with flat screen tvs, jukebox, food menu, and cosmic light nights. Inside the same building is also a full bar and arcade area.
Fishing
Don’t forget your fishing rod on this trip! You can purchase your fishing licenses at Kelly’s Ace Hardware in Chelan. With calm waters and plenty of lakes and rivers to choose from, this has been a favorite area for fishing for generations.
Golf
Do you enjoy your golf with a lake view? Head towards Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course, an 18-hole course designed to show off the beauty of the valley from every angle.
Skydiving & Helicopter Rides
We’re big fans of the helicopter rides here at MVL. Almost all of the employees have been on the LC Helicopter at one point or another. It is an incredible sight to see the lake racing below you. It is beautiful. Skydiving is for more adventurous travelers. There is a huge skydiving festival in town every year. If you’re brave enough, there are guides in town to show you how to do it.
Zip Lines
There are zip lines available in town! From beginner to advanced, there is something for everyone. This is perfect activity if you are traveling with a family or larger group.
Trails
If you’re looking for a gorgeous walk or long hike, you’re headed to the right place. Depending on how far you’re willing to travel, there are trails in the valley that are anywhere from 1 mile to 25 miles long.

– Little Bear Trail
– The Pops Trail at Echo Ridge
– The Outback and Mallory’s Trail at Echo Ridge

You don’t have to travel far to enjoy yourself. Mountain View Lodge & Resort was designed to keep guests entertained on site. We do our best to provide everything we can for you.
